my wife found this 1/4 page ad on page 2 of yesterday's nj star-ledger, probably the biggest newspaper in nj.

I love this and there is nothing that anyone on this board can do to stop it no matter how many post's they use to derail it.

I just so want for the WT to change their policies and protect the children. This makes my day.

what i sense from the conversations of my family members and relatives who are jws is that at least some jws are not as zealous before with regard to the major subjects such as “sanctification of god’s name,” “vindication of his sovereignty” etc.

they begin to feel that such subjects are imaginary issues.. this is a good sign.

it shows people are worried about their own day-to-day worries.

I was with a group of JW's 2 weeks ago and I noticed the same thing. I was more up on what was going on then they were and some of these are hard core JW's. I knew the name of the GB members and they did not have a clue who they were. I said but we see them every month on JW broadcasting and they looked blankly at me. I honestly wonder if they watch it, They are busy with life and it just seemed like it is a religion to them.

I also wanted to add that I have been accused of having two different accounts on this board. I do because I have tried and tired and tried to get my phone to sign into my home computer account and I somehow started a new account on my phone. I just noticed a very paranoid poster who thinks I am doing something wrong and trying to stalk him, which in reality he is doing to me always following the posts I am on. I sign myself off the same way. I really think that the JW part of people never leaves them, like the paranoia thing. I mean seriously. I am sure he will be reading this as everywhere I go he is there. He think I am in love with him, kind of creepy.

Now getting back to the subject, OTWO really hit the nail on the head with "They have morphed into "Jehovah loves us, Jesus loves us. Christianity is wrong." that is basically what this family I was with said, and that is what they are teaching their children.

there's a lot of criticism surrounding the jw's handling of chiild abuse within their ranks with a lot of it being well deserved.

but i'm interested to know how people on here think child abuse allegations should be handled.

there's a few scenarios below, the first couple are easy then it gets a bit more complex.

I also honestly wonder if Landy and RO work for the WT. I mean the way they use their reasoning is just the same way the elder's in my hall used toward me when they allowed the child molesters to hold and take care of children.

I think this is why I have gotten sucked into Landy's insane web. He reminds me exactly of one of the elder's I talked to, name calling, belittling, etc.

Why would anyone use the reasoning that Landy and RO are using unless they work for the WT. Funny both of them especially RO came on this board right about the time that the newspaper and TV ad's started to run, Landy had been on longer but it would make total sense for the WT to put people on this board to down play those ad's which both Landy and RO have totally done. The WT is afraid of those ad's you know it and both Landy and RO trashed and destroyed any thread that had to do with them.

It really makes you wonder.

Rebelfighter you are falling into Landy's trap just like I did last weekend.

This person is all about debating and swearing and belittling, destroying threads, downplaying, insulting and fighting with everyone who does not view the world the way he/she does.

He/she is totally on the side of the WT along with with his buddy RO

It really is insane when I step back and look at he/she Landy, this person is so illiterate that he/she does not know that there are such broadcasting networks here in the US such at NPR and PBS yet Landy admitted that he/she spent the weekend watching the West Wing a show made in the US.

I know Landy gets many people worked up and that his and RO's goal. To down play the seriousness of child rape in the JW religion.

I beg of everyone instead of debating Landy and RO to just Google Trey Bundy and watch him on PBS and then listen to his report on Reveal from December of 2016 less than 8 weeks ago.

I honestly am not faulting anyone for debating Landy as I just got sucked back in. But all he will do is swear and belittle and insult you, he does not want the facts just his opinion and view.

This is just to huge of a crime to allow Landy and RO to have their way.

If anyone doubts what I mean about Landy just watch his come back at me, he will belittle me, insult me and swear at me. He will use all kinds of vile language at me. And if he does not do that he will be supper condescending toward me and put me down

It just proves my point that Landy and RO have an agenda for the WT and if anyone dares to disagree with them watch out.

Landy spent the whole weekend swearing at me and call me all kind's of degrading name and trying his best to derail anything that I or anyone else said on this subject that was not to his liking, Please I beg of everyone to take this seriously and not let Landy and his buddy have their way..

According to SNAP and the research that they have done for every victim that has the courage to come forward and report a rape or molestation there are 9 other victims that do not have the courage to do that.

RO said very clearly on Tuesday what his agenda is "I will go away when everyone stops lying about Watchtower."

RO is clearly on the side of the WT.

Landy refuses to believe that there is even a broadcasting network here in the US called PSB as you can see by his comment here

Seriously this person Landy openly admitted that he had not heard of NPR or PBS and everyone takes what he say as points to consider.

Please do not let ones like RO and Landy keep debating this subject. To Landy this is just a huge joke that he is getting is sick kicks out of by belittling and insulting ones who have been harmed and injured to the point that many commit suicide.

I'll tell you what - I'll do a quick survey at work tomorrow. I'll ask a few if they've heard of a Trey Bundy or SNAP. I work with some pretty well educated people including PhDs and Chartered Engineers. It should be a good litmus test. I'll report back with the results..

This sums up what Landy and RO are about, Debating and derailing, casing page after page of belittling remarks toward those who disagree with him, refusing to look at proven facts or like that PBS and NPR even exist while he watches the West Wing.

This subject of child rape. Children being harmed for the rest of their lives because of the JW's and their policies is to huge to allow ones like Landy and RO to down play.

what started me thinking, was the societys very own book...' 'revelation..it's grand climax at hand'.

Why so few XJWs online?

not too long ago, i posted a topic where i pointed out that there are about 1 million xjws alive right now.

that number only represented the disfellowshipped ones... didn't account for those who had become publishers and left or anyone else who got hurt by that group by proxy.

so, why are there so few of them online?

I think JWdaughter summed it up very well many of us totally bought into it and it left a huge stain on our lives. I love the way she put it.

I also think that they are some very disturbed exJW's and when you have the unpleasant experience of running into them you, it just brings home all the pain you went through while being JW all over again.

Take the problem of the child molesters in the religion, there were some very great posts in the last 2 weeks on how this is being brought into the new's through newspaper ad's and TV ad's. Yet there were 2 poster's on this board who train wrecked, derailed, trashed and diminished, slammed, put down, swore, belittled, insulated and than claimed that everyone else was biased and had to much of their old JW personality in them. One went so far as to say in his own words, "simply presenting useful info is pretty shocking and shows that one or two of you haven't quite thrown off the JW judgemental mindset as much as you think you have."

This person posted that statement after some dared to question him and his sidekick poster. I know JWdaughter made a great comment and this poster came at her and tore her post apart and used swear words to drive home his point.

This poster told me I lived in my own small bubble because I have heard of (SNAP) Survivors of Network of Those Abused by Priests. He told me I was crazy because I heard of Trey Bundy and Reveal on NPR, and PBS.

Seriously ones on this board do not know what NPR and PBS is and there have been huge threads on Trey Bundy and his work with Reveal. Yet this posters insisted on swearing and belittling me for bringing this up, insisting that the problem with the child rapists in the JW's will just blow over again even with these ad's.

I think back to, to the first of this month when Randy Waters came on with his rant against Barbara Anderson. As long as people (ex JW's) keep attacking each other and trying to destroy, demoralize, degrade, belittle each other, it scares people away.

I do not understand it, It makes no sense, why not treat each other with some sort of dignity, why derail threads they do not agree with page after page of put downs to ones who have honest questions. Then come back and try to make it seem like they are being persecuted and everyone else has a problem because a few dare to stand up to their way of thinking. So this poster and his side kick do not think that the ad;s mean anything, good for them, they have never heard of NPR or PBS which here in the US are huge broadcasting networks. They have never heard of Trey Bundy all they have to do is Google him but instead they insist on spending their time attacking everyone on a thread to bring it down.

I have seen this happen also outside of the internet. In the real world also. So many ex JW's love the lime light they want to be the next Leah Remini, but instead of coming off with their act together like Leah does they look to do what Rick Fearon of six screens of the Watchtower with Johnny the exBethelight does and they become a joke instead.

I just wish the ex JW's were not so mean and spiteful to each other. I do not know what the answer is but I do know it is very disheartening.

Skinned and Thrown About.....

this is a little long, but stick with me.. if you recall, when the building work was in full swing at the new lakefront villa (warwick), wt was having workers come and they would put them up for a year, or more, while they were providing "volunteer services".

with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".

recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.

sparkly 1 you are spot on about Don Underwood, he was a very simpleminded man who only did the WT bidding. He also had a family and did not put the kingdom first in his life but only came to Bethel after his kids were grown. That always upset me because I wanted to have a family also but I was waiting on the new system like I was told to do. Seeing ones like Don living a life I wanted to have was discouraging.
